Record Grading Condition LPs 45s 78s - Vinyl Media

Mint (M): new, unplayed, factory sealed


Near Mint (NM or M-): an almost perfect record, plays perfectly, no obvious signs of wear


Very Good Plus (VG+) : record may have signs of light wear and slight scuffs or very light scratches that won't affect playback. Label may have light ring wear or spindle marks.


Very Good (VG): record may have some signs of wear with light scuffs or light scratches, minor groove wear, and it may have light surface noise. Labels might have writing or a sticker.


Good (G), Good Plus (G+): May have noticeable or significant surface noise, scratches, or groove wear but it can be played without any skipping.

Mint (M) - no signs of wear or imperfections, factory sealed


Near Mint (NM or M-): minor defects with no creases or folds, seam splits, or cut out holes or cut corners.


Very Good Plus (VG+): minor wear which may include slight creases or slight seam splits, or cut out hole or cut corner on the jacket.


Very Good (VG): noticeable light wear, covers or sleeves may have writing or stickers or sticker residue, slight creases or slight seam splits, or cut out hole or cut corner on the jacket. Inserts or inlays may have a slight rip.


Good (G), Good Plus (G+) : visibly worn may have multiple problems with seam splits, or creases, or writing, or stickers, tape, cut-out holes or cut corners


Poor (P), Fair (F): extremely worn or poor shape
